Pastor Chris: “You must acquire precise and intimate knowledge of God”

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome once clarified the importance of acquiring precise and intimate knowledge of God.

He even mentioned this specific Bible quote to make his point. It says:

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to his own glory and excellence.” (2 Peter 1:3 RSV)

“The word ‘knowledge’ in that verse is the Greek ‘epignosis,’ and it means exact or precise knowledge; full knowledge with intimacy. It means full comprehension, recognition or perception; to become fully acquainted with God,” the pastor explained.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome assured believers that this is the knowledge the Lord seeks for His children to have of Him so that they protect their good character.

“We have been called to glory and virtue; that is the life of glory, honor, dignity and excellence, and this life works in you through your knowledge – ‘epignosis’ – of Him,” he said.

Pastor Chris: “As you get to know God, He will grant you insight into reality”

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome went on to explain that through the Apostle Paul, the Holy Spirit shows believers how to get this knowledge of God in His prayer for the church.

He mentioned Ephesians 1:17-18, which says, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened.”

“So, what does this verse actually mean? He is saying that as you get to know God through this kind of special relationship or acquaintance, He will grant you insight into reality,” the pastor explained.

“And so, God has appointed you to a life of honor, dignity and excellence, but as you learn about Him and meditate on the word, secrets about this life and how to walk in the reality of it are unveiled to you,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome added.

He then remembered another powerful truth written in 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV). The verse says, “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”.

The pastor explained that the word translated knowledge here is “epignosis.” So, in addition to a life of honor, dignity and excellence, grace and peace can be multiplied in your life as you meditate on the word of God, according to the Christ Embassy founder.

“I have full discernment and understanding of divine realities because the eyes of my spirit have been flooded with light to know the hope of my calling and the glory of God’s inheritance in the saints, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
