Pastor Chris: “God wants you to heal the sick”

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome recently quoted from Matthew 10:8 NIV, which says:

“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Through this quote from the Bible, the man of God tried to make believers realize that they have a more profound influence on others than they let themselves believe.

“Do you realize there is power in your hands? You actually do have something to give because there is power inside you, and you can transmit the healing power of God to the sick through your hands,” he explained.

The LoveWorld president then explained that God has given people the ability to claim authority over devils and cure sicknesses. He said that as people preach the gospel, they often encounter people too sick to believe in themselves.

“Some have peculiar diseases that would not allow them to hear, see or even talk to you. Others are too distracted by the ensuing pain and discomfort,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome stated.

“In such cases, you must understand that God, by His Spirit and through faith in His Name, has given you the power to transmit divine power to the sick and cause them to be healed,” the pastor proclaimed.

Pastor Chris: “Do not be satisfied with only preaching the gospel”

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome mentioned that people always find Jesus healing the sick before He preached. There were times where He spent His entire day healing sick folks and curing their diseases by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome even pointed out the evidence in Matthew 15:30-31 NIV.

“Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and He healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel,” it says.

Later, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome explained that when Jesus sent 70 of His disciples into cities and towns, He told them, “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’” (Luke 10:9).

“When Jesus instructed His disciples to heal the sick, He gave them the authority over every disease by the same command to accomplish the task successfully,” the pastor explained.

“You received the dynamic ability to cause changes the moment the Holy Spirit came to dwell in you. Therefore, do not be satisfied with only preaching the gospel; learn to fulfill the heavenly desire of your Father and demonstrate the power of the resurrected Christ by healing the sick,” he added.
