Pastor Chris: “You must claim authority over devils”
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).
The man of God clarifies that God assigned angels to people the day they were born into this world.
“Their first and primary responsibility of the angels is to protect you and to see to it that in time, you heard and received the gospel for your salvation. As you progress in life, depending on what God has called you to do. He assigns more angels to you,” he explains.
On the flip side, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also makes it clear that Satan has demons whose primary responsibility from when people were children was to devour, destroy, deceive and lure them away from the path of righteousness.
The man of God says that the Bible teaches about the woman who was about to deliver a child in the Book of Revelation; she was to provide a man-child, and the devil was there waiting right from the time of birth (Revelation 12:4-5).
“This was not peculiar to that child alone; God only used that prophetic illustration to show us the modus operandi of Satan. Even now that you are born again, Satan still seeks to hinder you from serving the Lord,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome says.
Pastor Chris: “God gives us authority and the power to act in His name as his agent”
According to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, understanding authority is crucial because it is a fundamental principle in the universe established by God himself. It is the foundation upon which order and structure are built, and it is through the authority that things get done.
The man of God emphasizes that without a proper understanding of authority, we may find ourselves struggling in life, facing unnecessary opposition and unable to fulfill our purpose.
“That is why you must be vehement when dealing with Satan: cast him out,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome says.
He elaborates by saying that people have the authority in the Name of Jesus to cast out devils. That authority is unrivaled and unparalleled in heaven, earth and in hell. Therefore, when people say, “Devil, get out of here in the Name of Jesus,” he has got to comply.
“God gives us authority and the power to act in His name as his agent. Ultimately, understanding authority is about recognizing the sovereignty of God and submitting to His divine will, which is the key to a blessed and fulfilling life,” the pastor states.
“The best part, however, is that you are in Him; you are seated with Him on His exalted throne of grace, reigning through Him,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome adds.
