Pastor Chris Teaches the Power of Meditation on the Spirit

In a profound teaching during a recent message, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome shared deep insights on the true meaning of meditation for the believer. His message, “Give Yourself to Meditation,” invites us into a powerful practice that brings transformation, clarity, and divine direction.

Pastor Chris Explains the Depth of True Meditation

For many Christians, meditation is often limited to pondering Scripture. But Pastor Chris emphasizes that true meditation goes far beyond rumination. It is not merely quoting verses or reading the Bible quietly. While scriptural meditation is vital, he draws attention to another dimension—meditation on the Spirit.

According to Pastor Chris, meditation on the Spirit is a higher form of spiritual exercise. It involves setting your heart on the Holy Ghost and allowing your Spirit to be influenced and conditioned by His presence. “Through meditation, your spirit will be conditioned to the influence and atmosphere of the Holy Ghost,” he declared.

The Communion of the Spirit

In this remarkable teaching, Pastor Chris makes it clear that believers are born of both the Word of God and the Spirit of God. The two must work together. The Word alone is incomplete without the Spirit, and the Spirit works through the Word. This divine connection is foundational to a victorious Christian life.

When you give yourself to meditation on the Spirit, you enter into communion with Him. This is when visions, revelation, and divine insight begin to flow. Pastor Chris referenced Proverbs 23:26, where God says, “My son, give me your heart.” Meditation is that act of giving—yielding your Spirit fully to the Spirit of God so He can begin to reveal and direct.

Three Levels of Meditation

Expounding on the importance of this spiritual discipline, Pastor Chris introduced three levels of meditation. These come from the Hebrew word “Hagar”, which means to imagine, mutter, and roar.

  1. Visualizing the Word: This is a quiet reflection. You create mental pictures of the Word. This process allows the Word to take root in your Spirit, transforming how you think.
  2. Muttering the Word: This is when you speak the Word under your breath, repeating it until it becomes personal and real. It bypasses the intellect and embeds truth deep into your Spirit.
  3. Roaring the Word: At this level, you declare God’s Word loudly and boldly. This type of meditation drowns out fear, doubt, and every distraction, causing the power of the Word to rise strong in your consciousness.

Each of these levels is essential and progressively ushers the believer into deeper intimacy with the Holy Ghost.

Meditation Produces Rhema

Pastor Chris reminded the audience that meditation is how the logos (the written Word) becomes rhema (the spoken Word of God for your situation). While the written Word holds power, it is the rhema that causes the miraculous to happen.

Rhema changes circumstances, heals bodies, and opens doors. “There is no condition in your body that cannot be changed by the Word,” Pastor Chris declared, emphasizing that meditation gives birth to rhema in the believer’s life.

Pastor Chris on Becoming the Word

Perhaps one of the most compelling truths shared in the teaching is that meditation causes you to become the Word. As you meditate consistently, you begin to talk, act, and think like God. Pastor Chris made it clear that this is God’s plan for every believer—to be transformed into the living Word.

He cited Proverbs 4:22, which says the Word is “life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.” Through meditation, that Word becomes the very health of your body, bringing healing and divine strength.

Pastor Chris Calls Every Believer to Practice Meditation

As the message concluded, Pastor Chris called believers everywhere to practice this divine discipline. Meditation is not optional—it is a godly exercise required for a life of victory and dominion. In times of peace, build your faith. In moments of struggle, let your Spirit roar with the Word of God.

The teaching “Give Yourself to Meditation” is available now in the Pastor Chris Digital Library for deeper study and insight.
