Pastor Chris: “God knows that prayer works”
After a month with no “Your LoveWorld with Pastor Chris,” the popular prayer series returned on Monday, March 1st.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome kicked off season three phase two of “Your LoveWorld with Pastor Chris” by reminding the Christ Embassy congregation of his upcoming Global Day of Prayer from March 26th to March 27th.
“It is the first anniversary of these prayer days. Remember we had the first one in 2020 on March 27th. We cannot forget it. It was the day that we began to change the course of things in the world. I can tell you that we would not be where we are today, had we not taken that step on the 27th of March 2020. It changed everything. Thanks beyond to God,” he stated.
Afterward, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome went on to highlight the significance of prayer.
“You know, Jesus said that men ought always to pray and not to faint. He told us to pray. Jesus prayed. The apostles prayed. He told us to pray. Prayer is important. You know, I told you before that God taught us to pray, instructed us to pray because He intended to answer,” the Christ Embassy President explained.
“Prayer is not our idea; it is His idea. He knows that it works. He told us to do it. It gives Him the right to do what He would not do if you did not pray. Prayer does not change God, but it positions you in a situation where He can respond to you in a way that He would not do otherwise. So, it is our responsibility to pray,” he continued.
A year of “Your LoveWorld with Pastor Chris”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome initiated the “Your LoveWorld with Pastor Chris” shows at the beginning of April 2020. The broadcasts proved to be very popular among the Christ Embassy members, so the show has been extended over and over again.
So far, more than 90 episodes of “Your LoveWorld with Pastor Chris” have been produced.
The pastor introduced the prayer weeks as an extension of his first Global Day of Prayer with Pastor Benny Hinn, which took place on March 27th, 2020.
The two pastors prayed against the coronavirus that had just gotten its grip on the world at that time.
The show was a huge success, gathering three billion online viewers.
24 hours of non-stop praying
On June 26th, 2020, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome held another Global Day of Prayer where his congregation utilized what they had learned during the months of praying in the spring.
“Today will be even more significant. We will begin, pray now into tomorrow, Saturday. We call it a day of prayer. The first one was to initiate what we wanted to do, and now it is a whole day – 24 hours,” Chris Oyakhilome said at the opening of the prayer day.
During the event, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Benny Hinn and other Christ Embassy ministers preached for 24 hours.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also emphasized the importance of praying on that day.
“The reason why He invited us to pray is because He intended to answer. Jesus taught us how to pray. From the scriptures, we learn about prayer. Prayer by the prophets, prayer by the apostles of Jesus. Prayer is not a sign of weakness. Prayer is our faith talking to God,” he said.
Pastor Chris: “The greatest part of prayer is the answer”
Another Global Day of Prayer followed on September 25th and once again attracted billions of viewers online.
There, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome urged the participants to make the most of the special time of prayer.
“The greatest part of prayer is not the prayer itself. It is the answer. We have not had a great prayer program except we have had a great answer. It is God’s response that truly matters,” he said.
“Irrespective of what we have said… It does not matter what we shouted. It does not matter what we sang. It does not matter what we asked for if He did not answer. If He did not respond. It meant nothing. What He told us… He will always hear us. He told us that we have His ear. Every time we pray, we have God’s ear,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome continued.
Four Global Days of Prayer in 2020
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s most recent Global Day of Prayer took place from December 1st to December 2nd, 2020.
Several of the LoveWorld pastors ministered, and viewers witnessed testimonies from around the world.
At the beginning of the Global Day of Prayer, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome stressed the importance of praying.
“In the presence of God in prayer, your faith rises. It rises to the surface. It rises to the top. What you thought was impossible… When you are in the place of prayer, it suddenly becomes possible to you. Your boldness stands strong,” he said.
“Outside prayer, you will be weak. You will feel weak. You will think weak, but in the presence of the spirit of God in prayer, you are strengthened. Those things that seemed impossible will look cheap to you and be possible,” Pastor Chris Oyakhilome continued.
